The event took place from August 18 to September 30, 2024, and included both affordable tournaments with buy-ins starting at $100 and high roller events with buy-ins up to $25,000. Nine tournaments had guaranteed prize pools totaling over $60 million.

The WSOP Online Main Event was an unexpected discovery, attracting 6,146 participants and generating a prize pool of nearly $30 million. The winner was Moritz Dietrich, who received $4,021,012. His prize money was the largest win in the history of online poker. In the final, he defeated Russian Evgeny Akimov, who took second place with a prize of $3,099,896.
