WSOP Online 2024 review: main winners and records

The World Series of Poker Online 2024 is the world's premier online poker event of the year. For many pros, participating in this series is the goal of the entire season. They prepare seriously and well in advance for this competition. They go through satellite qualifiers, closely follow the schedule, and get ready for a serious match.

This year, the series brought together the world's top players. At the same time, several records were broken, from the number of participants to the total prize pool. The results of WSOP Online 2024 were marked by resounding victories, truly historic pots, and spectacular performances.

The World Series of Poker online series on the GGPoker platform set new records for both the number of participants and the total prize pool.

• Total number of pros: over 150,000 players;
• Total prize pool: $114.8 million.

The event took place from August 18 to September 30, 2024, and included both affordable tournaments with buy-ins starting at $100 and high roller events with buy-ins up to $25,000. Nine tournaments had guaranteed prize pools totaling over $60 million.

The WSOP Online Main Event was an unexpected discovery, attracting 6,146 participants and generating a prize pool of nearly $30 million. The winner was Moritz Dietrich, who received $4,021,012. His prize money was the largest win in the history of online poker. In the final, he defeated Russian Evgeny Akimov, who took second place with a prize of $3,099,896.

Other notable wins

WSOP Online 2024 not only became the largest online poker event in history in terms of number of participants, but also featured a number of innovations and unique tournament formats: Mystery Bounty, Progressive Knockout, and Space KO.

Tournaments with prizes for players from different continents were introduced.

Participants were invited to enter the tournaments through a series of qualifying events and requirements, including:

• Satellites with buy-ins starting at $1;
• Freerolls;
• Direct satellites on GGPoker.

Players from CIS countries performed well at the best tournament of 2024.
